Besides his demonstrated knowledge and skill at leading the development and implementation of corrections programs, Brad Hompe has provided a wide range of services in prisons and jails throughout Wisconsin and nationally. During his time with Wisconsin Department of Corrections (WI-DOC), Brad Hompe has performed nearly every job there is to do in a prison environment. He has been a prison staff employee, as well as a jail inspector, an instructor and trainer And he also has worked his way up through the ranks, landing on every step along the way. He started his WI-DOC career as a corrections officer, then was promoted to sergeant, lieutenant and captain, before going on to become a unit manager and deputy warden and, eventually, warden.
Currently a Corrections Complaint Examiner and Investigator for WI-DOC, Brad Hompe’s experience with jail and prison operations is extensive. Over the years, he has come to be seen as a top-notch expert when it comes to prison operations, in part because of his experience in all aspects of jail and prison operations, including planning and design, and policy development in many areas, including use of force. He has also played a critical role in the development and implementation of training and evaluation and incident management programs. In fact, his level of expertise when it comes to food service, sanitation and maintenance, classification and supervision and even fire safety, is very substantial.
During his time with WI-DOC, Brad Hompe has done just about everything anyone has asked him to do, and the experience he has gained has been invaluable for him and everyone who has worked with him.
